Paul Schultz and his wife, Audrey lived in the same house for 20 years and attended the same church while raising two daughters. It wasn’t until after they became volunteer leaders with the youth ministries at church that all that began to change. The Schultz’s went on a mission trip with the youth to the inner city of St. Louis through a Bridging Urban Ministries Project (BUMP). It was there that they experienced a deep love for the people of the inner city and learned more about the Lord from His scriptures and His heart for the poor, broken and downcast. A couple of years later their oldest daughter, Andrea, married and their youngest daughter moved out of the family home into a college dormitory. The Lord began to tug at Paul and Audrey’s hearts while creating dissatisfaction with their current employment and giving them a desire to work in ministry.
Paul and Audrey felt a call to join a small staff of missionaries serving at Morning Star Ranch with a desire to serve the urban poor. Morning Star Ranch is a camp and retreat center, a special place for the urban poor to meet Christ and experience His love through a retreat, attending camp or experience a family vacation.
